THE UZII TREE
This is a historic and landmark Tree called “Uzii”.
The Tree is as old as Agwa between 2000-3000 years.
Uzii, is a Tree like no other. It’s economically viable and produces a seed called Achi. Achi is rich in protein and iron and it is used for thickening soup and popularly relevant in the dietaries of the Southern and Eastern parts of Nigeria. Achi is brown. Before one can use it to cook, first of all, fry the seed, soak it with clean water, peel off the black shells; then you could either pound or grind it to prepare a meal called Achi soup.
Again, Uzii, is a hardwood which is a sought after wood in Timber Market. It’s is Tree with roomful shades which serves as a recreational/relaxation center for the members of the village; hence 24hour, people sell under the Uzii Tree. It’s a breezy tree and it also withstands wind storms as occasion demands. It’s on record that none of its branches has fallen on any of the sellers. This is why it is dubbed ” Uzi Obi Oma (A loving Tree).
Uzii is located between Umuahii, U3 ( Umuezeoka, Umuorinji & Umudurudo) and Umuoma. Right in front of late Hon. Mark Austin Obodo’s Goshen Villa
